As a leader of Cross Domain Security Solution (CDSS) project implementation teams, manages the entire Cross Domain Security Methodology (CDSM) lifecycle of cross-functional CDSS projects, including discovery, analysis, design, procurement, implementation, transition and production support. Major Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with full life cycle Enterprise Web deployment including Plumtree products, collaboration, application integration, and content management technologies.
  • Gather customer requirements and align customer goals with portal technology throughout deployment.
  • Install, configure, and deploy Plumtree product on both Solaris and Windows operating systems, at client sites.
  • Develop extensible components (portlet web services and crawler web services) for it to integrate customers' enterprise software applications and custom software applications.
  • Develop custom applications on the client platform using client APIs.
  • Perform upgrades of client software at customer sites as new versions are released.
  • Assist customers in the design of their portal security strategy (authentication, authorization, and auditing) and develop custom integration with LDAP and Single Sign-On products to meet customers' security requirements.
  • Work effectively with portal deployment teams that may include customer, system integrator, and Plumtree contributors.
  • Maintain expertise in Plumtree Corporate Portal deployment methodology, approach, architecture, and extensibility components.
  • Contribute to the Plumtree PSO knowledge base through writing implementation methodology tools, customer deployment reports, and contributing expertise to the development of professional services offerings.
  • Work independently at customer sites, or as part of a Plumtree implementation team, as required.
  • Prepare scope for onsite customer engagements and may coordinate the efforts of other consultants assigned to an onsite team.
  • Provide on-site customer training on Plumtree products.
  • Provide public training on Plumtree products in augmentation of the training department.
  • Ensure product and customer issues are communicated appropriately.
  • Up to 100% travel required.

Minimum Education

Most employees have Bachelor Degrees in Computer Science, but individuals are hired with BA/BS degrees in a variety of academic fields.  If applicants do not have a technical or engineering degree, then applicants must demonstrate a technical aptitude in their work experience (i.e. technical consultation at a systems integrator, working w/ web technologies, etc).

Job Description

The DoD Energy Awareness and Management Center is a project exploring the application of service-oriented architectures as the platform for the collection, analysis, trending and reporting of energy usage from military installations across the US. This role will define the meter data acquisition and storage business requirements and will help design the meter data capture process for the Meter Data Management application that will be the focal point for the project.  The position will also act as primary solution owner for the project and will be a key customer contact and liaison throughout the project

 

Principal Responsibilities:

The Sr. Consultant / Sr. Business Analyst will be in the role of a MDM Subject Matter Expert in determining and documenting the MDM data collection processes, including extraction-transformation-loading (ETL) and validation-editing-estimation (VEE) processes.

Function in the role of a Solution Owner for the DEAMC team maintain the backlog of implementation stories/needs.

Facilitate and document the business requirements for the implementation of the Meter Data management system.

Lead or participate in focus group sessions to determine business process or technical requirements.

Interview technical and business personnel to understand business process flows and required MDM capabilities

Create high quality documents that describe the solutions requirements, process flow, and implementation plan.

Create business process diagrams with Visio and effective management presentations with PowerPoint.

  • Help facilitate and conduct facilitated requirements gathering sessions and installation assessments as required.  .

 

Core Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.

A minimum of 5 years of Information Technology experience related to Meter Data Collection systems, or 5 years within the Metering organization of a large utility.

Strong understanding of utility business processes and business concepts

Strong understanding of AMR/AMI and/or MDM

Experience with MDM products such as Lodestar, Nexus Energy, eMeter, or EnergyICT

Good project management and organization skills

Very strong writing skills

Very strong verbal communication

Experience in dealing with both business users and IT personnel such as architects and developers.

Electric utility industry experience in distribution systems is highly preferred.

Automated Meter Reading or Automated Metering Infrastructure experience is required.

Work location is Purdue Technology Center in Merrillville, IN
